The Pink Sugar Foundation seeks to love, restore and rescue those who have been wounded by prostitution, abuse, abandonment and poverty in Recife, Brazil. We serve along with our local mission partners through contribution and participation. We invite you to join us on our journey to share Light & bring Hope.

Imagine hearing a child calmly tell you she watched her Mom kill her Dad over the weekend. Calmly, because she is so accustomed to living in trauma; it has become the norm. Imagine being 5 years old, huddling beneath a soggy piece of cardboard, a semblance of ‘warmth’, hiding in the darkness hoping no one ‘chooses’ you that night for their ‘pleasure’. Imagine being so hungry you sniff carpet given to you by an older kid on the street. The glue does funny things to your brain and before long, you find yourself having to ‘sell your body’ for a piece of fruit to prevent starvation.
Unfortunately, these are not imaginary stories. This is the reality for thousands of children throughout the world and especially on the streets of beautiful Recife, Brazil where we traveled for our mission this past September. We served as the connector bringing local ministries together. Our mission is to serve through contribution and participation.
Our number one priority is to see children rescued and redeemed from the evil of sex trafficking. Brazil is ranked 2nd in countries most known for prostitution and sex trafficking. The city of Recife is the number one city in Brazil for sex ‘tourism’. We believe we have been called to shine a Light in the darkness, to nurture physically and spiritually those who are victims of such trauma.
The problem is generational. Kevin is a beautiful young boy who followed me everywhere I went while at Kid’s Place, clinging to me for affection. He has never been hugged by his mother, who was also a victim of sexual abuse. Girls clung to us, cried and sang with us, grateful to have been rescued, living in a Safe House through Shores of Grace. Children smiled brightly at Davi’s life-changing Tennis Center.
Through participation and contribution, we were able to provide protein, meat & eggs for 120 children for 5 months, repair the roof for Kids Place, provide extermination for their facility for the entire year, and much more. We built connections, did a forgiveness exercise, cried, sang and praised God together with our dear brothers and sisters in Recife, Brazil.

Lush rain forests, beautiful beaches, and amazing cultural experiences make Brazil a popular tourist destination. With much to explore, Brazil is an eco-adventurer’s dream come true! But regular tourists don’t get to see an often-hidden side of Brazil. Many live in abject poverty, and this poverty leads to children – our most valuable and most vulnerable, being caught in a web of sex trafficking. While Brazil is the world’s 5th largest country, it ranks #2 for sex trafficking. The city of Recife is known as the #1 city for ‘sex-tourism’. That shouldn’t even be a word!
Our mission is to help solve this crisis through restoration and prevention. We are partnering with 4 different local mission groups in Recife to share the love of Christ with children and their parents.
We will be volunteering and sponsoring kids from the favela (Brazilain slums) from multiple different areas of this city to attend a 4 - 5 day long church camp where they will learn about God, have counselors to talk with, experience great fun doing recreational activities such as kayaking, swimming, tennis, make life-long connections, and learn emotional intelligence. The camp will have a heavy emphasis on emotional intelligence training as a method of healing from trauma these kids have experienced.
After the weekend camp, we will be working alongside our ministry partners serving the children in Recife, Brazil.
We would love for you to be a part of something that will change someone’s life for the good and change your own life for the better.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
